This painting is filled with golden spirals and depicts the excitement of experiencing nature at a particularly dynamic moment. Originally inspired by a magnificent wild place on the Oregon coast called "Devil's Churn", it echoes the energy of many rocky coastal places around the planet. When I moved to Hawaii everyone thought it was a picture of the north Kohala coast on the Big Island of Hawaii. When I visited that windy shoreline I knew that I had depicted those same elemental forces.
